  • Hi everybody!
    We’ve had a really busy spring, putting the album together with the guys. These "last minute" ideas and fixes have become come very important for the Black Roses album, so all the waiting is worth it! For example we brought this eight years old song idea back to life. It’s a duet song. I got a wild idea to ask the Nightwish singer Anette Olzon to sing it together with me. I called her and she said YES! So good things come for those who wait. Were getting there!

  • Moi everybody! The last four months we've been working very hard with the new album. We have recorded stuff in Nashville, Helsinki, Stockholm and Singapore! But we still want to nail a few more songs and that means the album will come out after the Summer. We are sorry about the delay but the new songs just keep coming and we really want this to be the best Rasmus album ever. I can't wait for you to hear it!!!

  • Thanks so much for everyone who congratulated me for my 28th birthday! Actually on November 27th i went to our myspace and i was touched by the sight, so many of our fans wanted to greet me on the birthday! anyway, that's the bass player only.. ; )
    I feel so old now (i think everyone's supposed to get older and enjoy it), but i feel so good too. We have a new album coming, i can't wait to go on tour with the new songs, and i'm editing this documentary of making of "Black Roses" so the album and band is on my mind every day!

  • Dear studio diary,
    Today is 12th of November. We are recording today a track of bass guitar for "Ghost of Love". Lauri has been recording "doubling" vocals for the songs the last few days. He's been working very hard to get the pronouncing right, i think it's great! These tracks that Lauri is doing now are making the choruses sound really big and fat, i love that!
    The place where we record, we call it "birdhouse". It's looking over a beautiful forest and in couple of miles, almost in the horizon, we can see the downtown of Nashville, the big skyscrapers and that is such a view...
    The autumn is really here now, the trees are yellow and red and orange, it's all just a bit like a fairy tale.
    Every day we have been cooking some nice lunch or dinner at the birdhouse, we've had red curry thai chicken, the spread cheese filled steak, pasta bolognese... i wonder what we'll be having today. Lauri is really into cooking. I'm not that talented in the kitchen, but i know couple of nice tricks from my wife. It's coming out good!
    I can't wait to hear the ready mixes of these songs!

  • Hello guys,
    Hope you're all good!!! I want to send you some good vibes from HELLsinki, Finland!!!
    I am hanging at the studio, getting rid of my hangover, feeling very good! Eero just made us chai...ouh yes!
    Pauli is in the recording room playing riff for one of my favourite tracks "The Fight", at least we've been calling it with that name...sounds very interesting and i think it's the fastest song we've ever made.
    Our new friend Harry (Sommerdahl, the other produser) is very professional and extremely nice guy, we love to work with him! The only problem is that he understands finnish, so we're not able to talk any bullshit behind his back...hehehehehehe.....
    So things are doing good in here! After 2 weeks we will continue recordings in Nashville, Tennessee. That will be interesting!!! Never been there before.

  • The new album "Black Roses" from The Rasmus will come out in march 2008. They started to record it on monday at Dynasty-Studio in Helsinki and they will continue later at the autumn in Nashville. This album will be the 7th of the band. "Black Roses" producer will be: Desmond Child (has produced for example Alice Cooper's "Poison", Kiss's "I was made for loving you" and Ricky Martin "Livin la vida loca" . The Rasmus' Lauri Ylönen and Pauli Rantasalmi met Child this summer in Greece and in Los Angeles talking about the album. Album's mixer will be Michael Wagener who worked with Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne. Second producer is Harry Sommerdahl.

    We are very sorry to inform you that The Rasmus will have to cancel their show at Fly Beeyond Athens on 17th July 2007. This is due to that the drummers girlfriend is having a baby. This is beyond everyone's control, but the band, management and we apologise profusely.

  • Hi all people around the world! guess what? well, i just came from Greece where i was writing with Lauri and we have now 10 new songs! Now we start to perfect them and checking possible recording dates. There has also been lots of rumours about new producer, but unfortunately we dont have deal with anyone yet. But for sure we want to try something new 3 albums (Peep,Playboys and HellOfATester) by us and Ilkka Herkman, 3 next (Into, Dead Letters and Hide From The Sun) with Martin Hansen & Micke Nord so... next 3 should be something new. you got the idea right? hehehehe
    well anyways, we are full of enthusiasm and happiness to start working on the new album and to play the songs live to ya`ll!
    I will keep you informed as soon as i know more ;)

    We have been writing songs like a dogs (dogs dont write songs? yes they do, dogs are people too:)) and rehersing for the summer gigs. I was in Los Angeles with Lauri writing new songs and checking out new producers, we felt that we need some fresh producer, new inspiration and go forward with our music. We have now really good team and it seems that we will record our new album in USA, starting in september, so we still have time to write more music to perfect the album. Its been really good to have this "silence" for the band , since we recorded 2 last albums very fast and there was no time or personal life. Now we are exited and hungry again! Thanks to all who have had patience to wait, we promise to do our best. See you at summer gigs (unfortunately we can visit every country, cus we need time for writing) and hopefully with new album we will be able to do massive tour around the world.

  • Aki Hakala, the drummer of The Rasmus, will be father in the beginning of the autumn of 2007. The baby looks like a little mountain in the belly of girlfriend of Aki. They say that the baby has an very active life. "We're lively so much and everyday we try to feel the movements of the baby. He seems very active! It's so funny", tells the happy Aki. The couple don't know the sex of child, but Aki believe that they'll know it before the birth. "We're very curious about it", Hakala says smiling too much. This year is very quiet for Aki. He's very concentrated in the new album from The Rasmus that must be released in the beginnig of 2008. "Fortunately this year is very quiet and I have time to stay in home. Evidently I'll have my paternity's licence before the excited year", added Aki... by blogit.hs.fi.

  • Let's tell the truth... we all were so afraid and worried because we couldn't find any news or special photos about our favourite band The Rasmus. They are almost desappeared and we miss them so much. Too much silence... But now Paola&Sefi can break this silence with some lines... We sent a little request of news for our website and of course for everybody and They are very glad to talk with all fans. They decide to send some news via The Rasmus Italia with few important words!^__^

  • The Rasmus Mexico sent a message to The Rasmus asking them about the next album sound, their plans right now and we told them to give a message for all fans. That's what they answered:

  • In some weeks Dynasty Recordings will release officially the catalog with exclusive products, and Therasmus.com.br is the first website to publish with exclusiveness the first pictures of it; these pictures were taken there is less than 1 week and Lauri and Pauli shooted beside more two models.
